Vienna

Most people think of high class enjoyment when it comes to Vienna: overwhelming culture, uncountable cafes, world-famous specialties. Vienna is different. Insiders appreciate the relaxed lifestyle that you can experience in the Museum District, the cool mix of styling and casual looks, trendsetters and families, shoppers and sportspeople.

Head out to the Naschmarkt, discover the green sites of the big city, the running tracks around the Prater and Schönbrunn Palace, the bars & restaurants. Without “Schmäh” – Vienna is different and worth it!

“My favourite place for a quick to go snack in Vienna – the Superfood Deli. The sixth and seventh district in Vienna is perfect for hanging out and just letting your mind wander.”

„Everything surrounding the Deli feels comfortable."

„I love to wander through the city center in the evening, past the Stephansplatz, down to the city park and back via the Ring and Kärntner Street – whether at Christmas time, in spring or on balmy summer evenings. When it gets calmer and the city goes to sleep…”

„The MuseumsQuartier in Vienna – this place has fascinated me ever since I was a little girl. I love the exhibitions there, I love the steps, I love the seating – I love to just lay down in the grass. “

Definitely one of my favorite places in Vienna.

„Sprinting in front of Kleines Café. Very cool spot in Vienna, the Kleines Café means “small coffee shop” and was featured in one of my favorite movies: Before Sunrise. I might go for a coffee after my run.”

Dehnepark

„Exercising in the fresh air is much healthier. The air flows through the lungs and feels like an oxygen shower, which gets the circulation going and provides adequate care for all organs.

Fortunately in Vienna there are many places that are particularly well suited for exercise in the countryside:

With Bjarki I prefer to visit one of the countless green parks – that’s good for us both and keeps us fit. We are currently very happy to be in the Dehnepark, this is a part of the Vienna Woods and because of the old trees and its lush flora and fauna it’s truly unique.”

Top 3 Cafés

“Here are my top 3 cafes, which are also dog-friendly.

  1. Waldemar Tagesbar in the 13th district: hip furnishing, a large selection of coffee  and cold drinks and breakfast until 3pm.
  2. Café Ulrich is popular among bloggers in the 7th district: delicious breakfast and daily lunch menus. Doggies are always welcome and usually get served water right away.
  3. Health Kitchen, also in the 7th district, is a fast food concept based on fresh, low-calorie products.”

25hours Hotel

„I would like to tell you where I like to spend my evenings in Vienna. Since I got Bjarki I prefer to seize the day rather than the night – but if I do go out at night, then in the 7th district. Here you can find so many cool and innovative restaurants in every street. But my favorite is the rooftop bar of 25hours-Hotel, you have a fabulous view from the terrace and lots of great events with DJs, Pop Ups and Co. take place there”

Maurer Wald

„It’s back to fresh air – that’s where I prefer to work out! This time we’re taking you into the Maurer Wald on the outskirts of Vienna, more precisely in the 23rd district – an idyllic spot of natural soil, spacious, quiet and beautiful.Whether a leisurely walk, adventurous mountain biking or a small run to burn off energy – in the Maurer Wald everything is possible. A real gem in the city!”

Prater Hauptallee

„The Prater Hauptallee is perhaps one of the most charming Viennese running tracks. The main avenue is an approximately 4.4km long avenue in the Viennese Prater. It leads from the Praterstern to the Lusthaus. In the immediate vicinity are also some forest trails that can be explored. The perfect spot to go for a run in a pair of comfy Saucony running shoes with the EVERUN technology for an amazing cushioning experience.”

Wiener Staatsoper

„Love going for a run through Vienna’s center. My favorite resting stop: Vienna State Opera.”

Urania

„The Urania is a public educational institution, cinema and observatory located directly at the popular running track Donaukanal (“Danube Canal“) which is an ideal running spot in the center of Vienna with paths and trees alongside its shore. There you can also find KLYO, a bar & restaurant with stunning views over the Danube Canal.

In addition, there are homemade foods and drinks, also for vegetarians and vegans and – best of all – breakfast until 22:30. A perfect spot to have a drink or something to eat while watching others run by.”

U1 Station Old Danube

“If you like to combine a sporty activity with a little holiday feeling, the Old Danube is always a good choice in Vienna. Looking at the glittering water, time flies by and you can easily forget that you’re still on the move – or just sitting and relaxing.

As a starting point for a run in the Old Danube area, the U1 Station Alte Donau is where to go. Our favorite stand up paddling spot for the summer became also one of our fave running spots in the off-season as it is not so crowded as the popular running tracks in Prater or Schönbrunn”
