Hang Out

Copenhagen is not only the capital of the happiest country on Earth according to popular indexes but also probably the center of the designer goods universe. Tourist folk to this city destination to get a taste of high end danish design and fashion but also experience the coziness within the city especially around Christmas and New year. This coziness and ambiance has it own word in Danish known as “Hygge” . The flat geography and compact city center means that the best way to get around is often by bike. An early morning jog will also take you past many of the cities popular sites and attractions.

If you’re into good coffee and small coffee shops, Copenhagen is the right destination. They are all over the place and new ones are popping up all the time. My favorite, at the moment, is Arrebro. Located on Den Sorte Plads. During the day they serve good coffee, simple breakfast and lunch. Then wine and beer during the afternoon and evening. Laptops are not welcome and that makes the vibe very social and pretty different from most cafés.

Kings Garden

Kings Garden is probably one of the most popular places to run and hang out in Copenhagen. Located in the center of Copenhagen and hosts a lot of different outdoor events and festivals. When the weather allows it’s full of people tanning and playing football during the day and having picnics and barbeques during the nighttime. The park is located 2 minutes from the gym where I used to host my bootcamps so I have spend hours running and training with my clients in Kings Garden. But now the park is one of my absolute favorite places to go for an early run or powerwalk during the weekend before it gets crowded when I need to clear my head. It’s a little oasis in the middle of the city.

The Coffee Factory

Right across from Sporting Health Club you’ll find a coffee shop called The Coffee Factory. Because of the location you could suspect it to be a tourist trap. But it’s actually a hang out spot for a lot of the local people. During the summertime they have a great sunspot outside. But I go there for there amazing cappuccino on almond milk. I’m usually a simple drip coffee with skim milk kind of girl – but there cappuccino on almond milk is so delicious it’s like a little dessert.

An old time favorite. I sometimes run out of here, but I mostly like to go for quiet walks walks – preferably together with one of my girlfriends. It´s beautiful all year round, there is an amazing view and especially on Sundays, there is a lot of activity, without it being stuffed with people.

The area has been undergoing major development and I love drinking a cup of coffee in the area after training on Konditaget. Nordhavn is a bustling district where something new pops up every single day – and I think it is an overlooked gem.
